Using What You Have to Re-Design for Less

Step 1. We
reviewed the existing look of the apartment for items
that made a statement. Most people have hidden
treasures that just need the right
staging. That
large mirror... Shanes Colorful Motorcycle
Books...their framed (Black Enterprise) magazine
cover.

Step
2. We flipped the rug to show its white
backing.
This provides pop against the red wall and oak wood
floors.
Step
3. The Coffee table was moved and reused as an
entertainment center (under the
television).
Step
4. The shelving earlier used to house the
entertainment can now be placed on the walls to house
what Shane really does. The shelving now highlights
his work as an
entrepenuer shoe designer, traveler and
collector of artifacts from Thailand, China, Germany,
Sweden, etc.
Step
5. We moved the chaise lounger to act as a
centerpiece (laid a throw over the top of it for
decoration). And there you have it... a redesign for
zero dollars and ton of design
skills.
